| Troop 4 Members Elected Officers at the 2007 Shawnee Lodge Fall Reunion |
| The Shawnee Lodge Fall Reunion is the annual weekend event for over 5,000 O.A. Members across Greater St. Louis Area Council, BSA. There are 10 Chapters within the lodge that all require youth leadership. The Fall Reunion, which took place Sept. 7,8, and 9, 2007 was a complete success for Troop 4! Steve Savio was elected Thunderbird Chapter 1st Vice Chief at only the age of 13 and he also earned the Brotherhood Rank this weekend. Matt Rocchio was elected the Thunderbird Chapter Chief after several years of working towards this goal. Troop 4 expects that both Matt and Steve will lead the Thunderbird Chapter through another successful year!! Congratulations guys!! The Lodge also requires lodge-level youth leadership, leaders who will oversee the operations of all 10 chapters and all 5,000 members. Matt McMahon was elected to Lodge Recording Secretary after serving his term as Thunderbird Chapter Chief last year. The lodge elections took place Friday Evening with all lodge youth members voting. Kevin Wiese was elected Lodge Chief, the first Lodge Chief from Thunderbird since 1989. This is quite an accomplishment for Matt and Kevin, the entire lodge is now in their hands, good luck! All four Troop 4 Members attended the Shawnee Lodge LLD (Lodge Leadership Development) at the Beaumont Scout Reservation on Sept. 15-16, 07. This event was organized and led by Lodge Chief Kevin Wiese and presentations were made by Matt McMahon. Matt Rocchio and Steve Savio learned key points in operating a successful chapter. The weekend was a success! |

| Troop 4 members participated in the 23rd Annual Greater St. Louis Area Council's Scouting for Food this past November. This year, the entire council collected 2.07 Million Can, an increase of almost 6% over last years drive. Members from Troop 4 not only participated in bag drop-off and pick-up locally, four members also worked out at the St. Louis Area Food on Saturday. Matt McMahon, Matt Rocchio, Steve Savio, and Kevin Wiese all helped put boxes of food on pallets, wrap the pallets, box food, and unload trucks for almost 8 hours. | The 2008 Summer Camp dates were announced! Troop 4 will be attending Camp Gamble this summer at the S bar F Scout Ranch. The troop has been given the week of Sunday, July 13 thru Saturday, July 19, 2008. Campsite Pratte will be the troop's home for the week at Camp Gamble. Many revisions are being made to the Older Scout Program this year to change things up and make the program even better, such changes include a frisbee golf course and a canoe orienteering course. Shawnee Lodge Chief Kevin Wiese and his officers are currently creating an O.A. Program for Summer Camp which will be ready for 2008. S bar F has so many opportunities, don't pass up this summer at the Ranch! The cost will be $185 after May 1 and $175 before May 1, so sign up early! | The weekend of April 4, 5, and 6, 2008, was one many Troop 4 Scouts will never forget. They participated in the 2008 Shawnee Lodge One Day of Service at Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park, which was destroyed by the Tom Sauk Resevoir collapse in December 2005. The Scouts and Adults worked many hours helping construct the new Goggins Mountain Trail. At the beginning of the day, there was no path, but by the end, there was an easy going beautiful trail. Their work will be seen by thousands of visitors each year who will use the new trail, for decades to come. Congratulations on a job well done.
